Platforms must understand India's context while moderating content, MeitY says

MeitY Secretary S Krishnan said more than 99% of social media takedowns in India are carried out by platforms under their own rules. He said government blocking under Section 69A is used sparingly even as global scrutiny of platform safety and design intensifies.
