Zubeen Garg’s First Death Anniversary to Be Marked With 3-Day Programme

The first death anniversary of iconic Assamese singer and musician Zubeen Garg will be observed with a three-day commemorative programme at Zubeen Kshetra, beginning September 17. The programme has been announced by Zubeen Garg’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, who said a series of events will be organised to honour the singer’s memory and pay tribute to his immense contribution to Assamese music and culture. According to reports, September 17 will be observed as ‘Zubeen Divas’ as part of the commemorative programme. The three-day event will feature prayers, cultural programmes and religious rituals, with people from across Assam expected to participate. On the first day, prayers will be offered in memory of Zubeen Garg. The day will focus on remembering the singer and seeking peace. A range of cultural programmes will be organised during the three-day observance, reflecting Zubeen Garg’s deep association with Assam’s cultural landscape and his enduring influence on generations of music lovers. On the third day, a "Bhagawat Naam" ritual will be held as part of the commemorative programme. The religious observance will be conducted with prayers for the peace of Zubeen Garg’s soul. She also extended an invitation to people to participate in the programme and join the family and admirers in remembering the legendary singer.
