Centre sells 4,000 tonnes of buffer onions in 17 cities to curb rising prices

Data maintained by the Department of Consumer Affairs shows the average all-India retail price of onion stood at Rs 50.79 per kg compared to Rs 48.5 per kg when the subsidised sale was launched on August 28.
