Broken Ganpati Idols Are Now School Desks for 760 Children

What if the Ganpati idol you immersed yesterday could become a child’s desk tomorrow? Every year, around 1.5 lakh Ganpati idols made from POP (plaster of Paris) are immersed in Mumbai. But after visarjan, these idols often become festival waste. What if they could have a second life instead? Through Murticycle technology, around 3,200 kg of broken Ganpati idols have been recycled into 760 school desks for children in Maharashtra. Each table also saves an estimated 5,457 grams of CO₂. What was once abandoned after visarjan is now helping children learn.
